2017 SoCal Catch Returning Players

La Mirada, CA – The SoCal Catch have signed five returning players for this upcoming summer. Outfielders Evan Sandmann, Nate Pecota, and Zack Davis, along with Pitchers Andrew Schuler and James Goodwin.

Evan Sandmann is a redshirt sophomore outfielder from Frankfort,IL. He’s played for Dallas Baptist the past two seasons, with a career batting average of .320. Evan has battled injuries to start this season, but has been making major contributions lately in the outfield and at the plate. Evan was a key player last summer for the Catch and looks to be a key piece for the 2017 summer.

Nate Pecota is a redshirt freshman outfielder from Lee’s Summit, MO. Last season for the Catch he had over 100 at bats and hit .269. This season at William Jewell College Nate is adding value at the plate and in the outfield.

Zack Davis is a redshirt freshman from Kearny, MO. He plays for UAB (University of Alabama Birmingham), and is already making significant contributions as a young player. This season, Zack has seen action in 14 games. Last season with the Catch, Zack battled injuries but displayed tremendous power at the plate.

Andrew Schuler is a redshirt junior pitcher at Desales University in Lehigh County, PA. Andrew has been a key contributor at Desales each of his seasons playing. He has led the team in innings pitched and has one of the all time lowest ERA’s at his school. This season, as an anchor on the staff Andrew is leading his team in innings pitched (41.1) and strikeouts (29).

James Goodwin is a sophomore at Biola University.  This season James has pitched in nine games for the Eagles, including six scoreless outings.  James holds a 1-0 record and has struck out seven batters in 8.2 innings pitched.
