La Mirada, CA – The So Cal Catch are excited to announce the signing of three pitchers for the Catch season. Tayt Smith, Hayden Jorgenson, and Matthew Wade all aim to make their names familiar with Catch fans as they take the mound this summer. Tayt Smith and Hayden Jorgenson both hail from Azusa Pacific University.  Smith, a freshman, is taking a red-shirt season as he gets a feel for his first year of college baseball, while Jorgenson, a sophomore, has taken on a primary bullpen role for the Cougars this season.

Tayt, a 6’1”, 175-pound left hander from Gilbert, Arizona was a two time all conference performer for Perry High School,as well as being named the team MVP his senior season. Smith also lettered in basketball for two years.

Jorgenson, a 6’3”, 230-pound right-handed pitcher from Eastvale, California is the type of big-bodied weapon you love to have late in games. Hayden has accumulated over 20 innings this season for the 31-7 Cougars while pitching to a 1.25 ERA.

Wade, the 6’3”, 185-pound, right-handed pitcher is in his fourth season at SEMO and has evolved into a very reliable reliever. Matthew has pitched in 14 games this season while allowing only 14 hits in 16.2 innings pitched. Wade is a versatile reliever who is able to give a team length, but also has the repertoire to pitch in the late innings of close ball games.
