Back and Forth Loss Ends Catch Home Schedule

Garrett Osterode -- SID

La Mirada, Calif. – The Catch dropped their final home game of the season by a final score of 11-10. This game was back and forth and easily one of the most entertaining and energetic games of the season.

The game heavily featured a lot of log balls from both teams. The homerun was prevalent as you can tell by the score.

The Catch are choosing to run out a couple of “bullpen days” to end the season. This means that pitchers are designated innings in which they will pitch and everything is predetermined. This being said, the bullpen did not do a terrible job. Without the errors and rough defense, the pitching would have been able to slow down the Saints bats and this might have been a completely different game.

Omar Ortiz, for the second game in a row, was the story of the game. Omar hit another two homeruns in his first two at bats of the game. Ortiz ended his hot streak with a 6-6 with 4 homeruns in that span. Absolutely unheard of numbers.

Steven Garrett also hit a homerun for the second consecutive game and he knew it right when he hit it, certainly one of the deepest homeruns of the season.

Also homering in this game, and for the first time this season, was Evan Sandmann. Evan has been hitting the ball hard al season long ad was finally able to sneak one over the wall.

The Catch take on the Arroyo Seco Saints to end the season with an away game on Wednesday night in Pasadena.
