Catch Ink Two Late Signees

La Mirada, CA– The So Cal Catch are thrilled to announce the signing of two last minute pitchers for this upcoming summer. Pitchers Zac Whittaker and Bailey Martin are two guys who have had a great deal of success and should be able to come in right away and produce.

Zac Whittaker, a 6’1”, 185-pound lefty from Clovis, CA just finished up his freshman season at Fresno City College. Whittaker was a was a workhorse for the Rams, working his way from the bullpen to the starting rotation by the end of the year. Zac is coming off a season in which he showed the ability to acquire a swing and miss, recording 46 strikeouts in 51 innings. The south-paw has been extremely successful ever since his prep career, holding school records at Clovis high school for career strikeouts (256) and career shutouts (8).

Bailey Martin just finished his second season at Miami (Ohio) University. Martin, the 6’4”, 180-pound right hander has had a lot of success in his college career so far. Used as both a reliever and a starter this season for the Redhawks, Martin pitched to a 3.62 ERA in 37 innings. Bailey, with an electric fastball, has the type of arsenal that keeps batters from making solid contact, allowing batters to hit just .208 against him. In whichever role Martin is used this season, he will be asked to be one of the leaders on this Catch staff.
