Toe the Rubber - Plus Another Outfielder

La Mirada, CA – The So Cal Catch are thrilled to announce the signing of four new players for this upcoming Catch season. Outfielder Grant Robbins, as well as pitchers Chris Vargas, Chad Boudreaux,and Tyler Hazlett will be doing their part to fill out the Catch roster for the 2017 summer.

Grant Robbins, a 6’0”,190-pound outfielder hails from Las Vegas, Nevada, and attends his hometown school, UNLV.  Robbins, the red-shirt freshman, has seen action in 10 games so far for the Rebels.  Grant, who has always been known for his defensive prowess, will bring a different element to the game, adding speed and a plus bat.

Chris Vargas, the 5’10”,195-pound red-shirt sophomore pitcher from Orange, California has signed to play for the Catch this summer.  Vargas plays at UC Irvine and has been a solid contributor for the Anteater's pitching staff this season.  The right-hander has compiled over 30 innings while appearing in 10 games and making 7 starts.  Chris is a veteran pitcher who knows what it takes to win and compete at an elevated level.

Chad Boudreaux, the 6’0”,175-pound southpaw hails from Spring, Texas.  Boudreaux plays at East Texas Baptist University, and as a sophomore has already become one of the Tigers’top options out of the bullpen.  Appearing in 32 games already in his career, Chad has the ability to be an effective pitcher versus both lefties and righties.

Tyler Hazlett is a freshman pitcher at Hawaii Pacific University from Arcadia,California. Hazlett, 6’0”,160-pound right-hander has already made a solid contribution to the HPU team, piling up 12 strikeouts in 15 innings thus far.  Hazlett has primarily been used in a long-relief role,proving that he can provide much needed length out of the Catch bullpen during this long summer.
