Up The Middle

La Mirada, CA – The So Cal Catch are excited to announce the signing of four new players for this upcoming summer.  Jonathan Ducoff, Shay Whitcomb, Tobias Johnson, and Anthony Seminaris look to make an immediate impact and solidify the Catch infield this season.

Jonathan Ducoff, a 6’1”,198-pound infielder from Kingwood, Texas is in his Junior season at Houston Baptist University.  Ducoff spent the previous two seasons at Baylor before transferring to HBU where he appeared in over 60 games and was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 recipient. Jonathan hopes to use his level of experience at the highest collegiate level and his ability to play all over the infield as an asset for the Catch this year.

Shay Whitcomb is a high school senior at Newbury Park High School who is heading to play baseball at the University of California San Diego next year.  Before doing so, Whitcomb will look to be a cornerstone in the middle of the Catch infield this summer. Shay carries a career .325 batting average in high school and is a plus defender at second base.

Tobias Johnson, a 5’9”, 175-pound infielder from Curtis, Washington is a Junior at Arkansas State University.  Johnson is currently hitting .229 in 17 games for the Red Wolves while seeing most of his at bats at second base and designated hitter positions. Tobias looks to bring a lot of speed and a solid bat to the top of the Catch lineup.

Anthony Seminaris, a 5’11”, 185-pound infielder from Chino Hills, California is in his junior season at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.  The Lions second baseman is hitting .248 through 35 games while leading the team with 26 RBI’s and hitting in the middle of the order. Seminaris will be a huge boost to the Catch offense this summer.
